Hi Alex, I've been a huge fan of your work and visited your site every month for about 10 years. As a keen photographer myself, i am very impressed by your technical ability, especially working with shiny materials and often blacks. Do you find correct exposure and lighting difficult to achieve? What's your ratio of 'discard to keep'? :-) thank you and all the best, Jon.

The ratio very much depends on the lighting conditions.
In a studio, the "keep" ratio is around 95%, but outside when using natural light, it is more difficult and drops to about 70%.

I suppose that if you have received so many complaints about the smoking images, then it's clear that 'in general' they are not liked by the majority of viewers.

Like you, I don't smoke. Never have, probably never will.
However, I know that there are plenty of people who DO like to see images of people smoking.
Personaly, I'm not one of them.

However, you can't please everyone all of the time.

Dude? I seem to have hit a nerve.

I mearly said that the smoking pictures were a turn-off for me.
I did not demand you delete them, change them or ask you to justify or defend the pictures.
Your guestbook is here for people like myself to give an opinion on your pictures. Be that good or bad. With that, you must be prepared to take negative comments along with the many posative comments you have received from both myself and others over the years.
Maybe you should be a little more tolerant yourself of the negative comments.
Though I did not like the smoking images, it will not prevent me coming back again to view your work.

Hopefully you took the comments as I intended, as constructive criticism, and simply some of my comments were taken wrong and out of context due to translation.

First let me say that I do not mind constructive criticism and the comments you see here where not the only ones about that topic (I delete comments that are personally insulting to me and/or my models.)

I simply cannot understand why 5 pictures that feature a cigarette seem to stir more interest and reactions than hundreds of other photos.

I also cannot understand why people demand more tolerance for their own intolerance. Second hand smoke should not be a problem when watching a photo. ;-)

There were other photos online here that featured a cigarette some years ago, but it didn't seem to cause such a big stir then.

By the way: I do not smoke and never have - but I do not mind if others do.

And lastly: I respect your optinion as I do anybody else's, but I reserve the write to voice my own opinion here as well. :-p

I've gotta agree with Cal R I'm afraid. :(
The smoking images do nothing for me. Actually, they are quite a turn-off. A real shame as the images themselves are up to your usual high standard.

Whatever, dude.

There are currently 400+ photos in the gallery, 5 of which (1.25%) have some smoking in them, which makes this website 98.75% smoke free. :-p

But this 1.25% gets a number of extremists all up in arms, sending me emails and guestbook entries, demanding I delete those images.

You know what? I won't! And I won't defend myself either, because there is nothing to defend.

How about a little tolerance?

You have produced some extremely fine work over the years but your latest series of images does not fall into that category. The cigarette really detracts from the rest of the image. Although I am not a smoker, that is not the reason for my comment. I just think that a cigarette ruins the image of a beautiful model.

I am also concerned about the possibility of serious injury. Latex rubber is flammable. Why would anyone have a lit cigarette in close proximity to it.

I respect your opinion, but just one factual correction: Latex is not easily flammable.

When you look through transparent latex, it's like being in thick fog - you cannot see much.

The partial blurring in the photos comes from a photo technique - the use of a large aperture which gives very short depth of field.

Yes, this is my photo, but technically it's not (only) the seller's fault.

Apparently they get their stuff from the criminals at "Catfish" in China, who are like the cancer of the fetish scene, selling cheap and bad fetish stuff and ignoring other peoples copyrights on photos and designs.

They steal designs and photos from all over the web and make latex from bad material, using chemicals and glues that you don't really want skin contact with.

Since not many responsible retailers want to do business with them, they sell their cheap imitations via lots of Ebay merchants.

I have enjoyed your site for many years - possibly since you first started and have downloaded and joined every picture (for my exclusive pleasure of course)and have found the technical challenge fascinating. Needless to say I have not kept every file because some are too much like each other. Suggestion: Add a "donate" link to your lefthand menu?
The only downside is that while folks might respond to your very tasteful request for support, a menu button that is always present may become old and ignored.

Question: Your Paypal link works, but it takes me to a Paypal site in German that pays in Euros. Would you put up a link for the USA folks, or list list a paypal address for us to cut & paste into paypal? Thanks for all your fine work over the years.

I tried to get PayPal to display a page in english, but it always comes back to german - probably because my account is with PayPal Germany.
But I believe that once you are logged in to your PayPal account, it should go back to english?!

I have been an avid fan of your site ever since you first went on line. I learnt early how to join your files and and have a collection (strictly for my own private viewing)covering all of them to date - even the multiple splits in the early 'water baby' amd bath scenes, which were a challenge. Hi Alex, I have a 0.4mm thickness latex catsuit, and will be doing my first bondage soon, i'd like to ask if i am wearing the suit and being tied up by chains tightly for a good period of time (say a night), will the compression (between the chains and my suit) that will harm the suit in the long run? (in terms of appearence and elasity), Thanks

Probably not the compression, but if you struggle and the chains move around on the latex, the surface might be damaged (getting dull).

I must admit, that seeing 'behind the scenes' pictures really would be nice. I know it's not as easy as it all appears from the finished articles.
One thing I would really be interested in Alex, would be an article or two on photographic technic. I like to take photo's myself, but do find that Latex and metal ( High polish materials ) are often difficult to capture correctly.

As for Cherry Tom, I love the pictures. Very fresh looking girl. It's often nice to see a pretty face, not hidden away by a hood or mask. Which is one of the reasons I like your photographs so much. That, and the fact that the girls you picture are 'real' as opposed to 'super models'.

I take Silke's replay very personal.
I found out how to print out the Guestbook page.
I will save it along with my autographed Photo of Silke on the back of my Clip Mix DVD.
I will buy Silke any latex items she wants.

Your last photoshoot is your best yet! Your model is stunning and she's wearing a stunning outfit. Although her shoes are matching the outfit in a superb way the dominant effect would have been more than doubled if she wore a pair of laceup kneehigh 5inch heel boots! ;-D
